Internet Pornography and it's Consequences Have Been a Disaster For the Human Race.
We've come to the point as a society of free and fast information. No longer would you need to travel to a library or ask someone who is more informed than you on the topic; the internet can give you that information in less than a minute. This created a generation of people who were infinitely more intelligent than the last. This, unfortunately, comes at a major cost. The internet provides a wide array of entertainment and media. From forums to videos, the internet has it all. This writing piece will take a look at the most obscene, pornography.
Uh Yeah. I Need More Context Here.
The internet has no doubt paved the way for porn usage becoming the norm. Pornography, however, is not anything new. The oldest evidence of porn existing is about 3,000 years old, but never in the history of humanity has it been more prevalent than the modern day. You can now search up all the porn you'd need in a lifetime on a device you carry in your pocket. It is now not uncommon to see children as young as 13 be familiar with explicit material, all thanks to high-speed internet. Porn use is only growing and it has no sign of stopping. 93% of boys and 62% of girls report viewing porn before the age of 18.
Okay... Why Should I Care?
Porn gives a very unrealistic standard for sex and sexuality in general. It encourages the creation of fetishes and sexual obsessions, which can create all sorts of problems in real-life romantic/sexual relationships. In fact, Porn addiction exists and is a very real problem. When viewing and masturbating to pornography, the brain releases large amounts of chemicals, such as serotonin and dopamine. This creates a "hit", and it creates cravings for the future. This is not unlike the behavior of drug users and alcoholics, which points to the conclusion that porn acts exactly like a drug would. A drug in which the majority of today's teenagers consume. There's even studies saying it also shrinks your brain and creates grey matter.
Well... How Do We Stop It?!
First of all, we have to destroy every piece of technology we see. Burn every playboy magazine you see in a fiery pit. Go around destroying a teenager's 5 terabyte hentai drive. Go out on the streets and kill every pornstar you spot.
So in other words...
Nothing. We can't do anything. We've hit the point of no return. We will watch as the youth become more and more occupied with an addiction they won't ever get out of. No matter how much restrictions or religious values we put on them, our children will no doubt somehow fall to this parasitic media. It's been so normalized and widely used that it might as well be considered pop culture. Even if a few people decide to cut this media out of their lives, even fewer will actually succeed.
We've passed the point of no return.
